Meet the Board
Volunteerism. Passion. Community.
CT wouldn’t be what it is without its volunteers. Our swim community thrives because of people who step up to not just to plan meets or manage logistics, but to create a space where kids grow, families connect, and lifelong memories are made.
Board members serve a 3-year term and play a vital role in keeping CT running strong. No special background is needed; just a willingness to help, collaborate, and bring positive energy.
We currently have openings for: Membership Coordinator, Sponsorship Chair, Snack Bar Coordinator, and Mass Email Manager.
If you believe in what CT stands for, now’s the perfect time to get involved and make a lasting impact!
Heather Fine
CT President
Although I learned to swim as a toddler, I came to competitive swimming in late junior high school to stay in shape for volleyball and hang out with friends. Summer swim team was not an option in Meadville, PA., where I grew up, but if it was, I for sure would have joined! Our family joined CT in 2018 when our two kids started summer swim. I joined the board in October of 2020, then appointed as the Treasurer in the Summer of 2022 then in the Fall of 2023, I was appointed the President. This amazing group of board members and groupies is so hard working, dedicated to CT and the community, and have such a strong and diverse skill set, they impress me every day and make it a joy to be the President.

Katie Mihina
CT Treasurer
Katie Mihina is a number loving accounting pro who keeps things balanced - thanks to yoga, a good book and her garden (when it cooperates). She's the proud wife of comic book loving nerd Matt Sams and swim mom to two boys who've been making waves as Marlins since 2022. Katie is the Treasurer for the CT Marlins who plays a key role in maintaining the financial stability of the team by managing budgets, tracking expenses and revenues, and ensuring transparency and accountability. This position supports CTAP’s mission by helping to keep membership affordable, overseeing scholarship funds, and enabling the team to offer a high-quality, community-driven swim experience to families across Tucson.

Informational Support
My kids have been on the Marlins since age 4 and I joined the CTAP board in 2022. My wife is Marlin alum having swam here when she was a kid. I wish I had joined a swim team when I was a child. As an adult I see many lifelong benefits having a swim team experience. I hope you find the time to enjoy summers at this oasis we call CT. Feel free to talk to me if you see me on-deck!
